Our Routine

At Wag-a-Day, we provide sessions which include exercise, human company and doggie socialisation for your dogs during the working day when they would otherwise spend time at home alone. We know that for some dogs being left can be an anxious experience, with some dogs showing behaviours associated with the stress and anxiety of being left alone. Wag-a-Day can help reduce the time your dog spends without company, exercise or stimulation.

Dogs will be collected from their home between 9am-10am. They will be exercised and entertained throughout the day with a programme which is individually tailored to suit their personality. After their fun filled day, they will be given a quick clean up and returned home happy and well exercised between 3.30 and 4.30pm, as the last thing we want are overheated doggies stuck in traffic jams.

The way we work means you dog will not have to "fit in" with the needs of others. At Wag-a-Day we’re more interested in who they are, what they like to do, who they like to be around and what they are comfortable doing. Their exercise regime will be discussed and agreed with you because you know your dog best. And will then be reviewed monthly with you.

Your dog will have a daily explore round the huge Bennachie forest. If your dog is fit and healthy, they will have an hours walk in the woods, along with playtime with other dogs and lots of human attention. However, if they are not as able, they can have an exercise schedule which will fit their needs, and may even have the company of dogs who have a similar fitness and ability.

At Wag-a-Day our groups of canine buddies are matched to energy levels and physical ability rather than size or age.

puppy group

Our Puppy Group

Our puppies have their exercise closely monitored so that they are getting the right amount for their age. Playtime and socialisation will be encouraged so that they can develop into happy confident adolescent dogs. And nap times will always be on offer when they are tired (they are babies after all). For a puppy, spending time with experienced staff and other puppies will support their socialisation skills and development - like an ongoing puppy party.

live wires group

Our Livewires Group

Our livewires are a mix of any age and size. These guys enjoy playing with each other and a bit of “rough and tumble” play. This group will only contain dogs who are outgoing and confident enough to thrive in this environment. As always there is always plenty of human attention at hand too.

quiet group

Our Quiet Group

Our quiet group is also made up with dogs of any age and size. These guys are happy in the company of other dogs but do not feel the need to play with their canine pals, but still enjoy interacting with their doggy friends. They tend to prefer life at a slower or quieter pace. This group is ideal for dogs who are perhaps of a more nervous temperament, are perhaps older or a little less fit and able.

We believe that reward based training is the key. We use rewards and praise to strengthen learned behaviours and to shape any which perhaps need development. In our experience these methods work best to create confident dogs with reliable and positive behaviours.

Wag-a-day always has the dogs’ happiness and comfort in mind. We want the dogs who spend time with us to be relaxed, confident and to be totally at ease with us and the other dogs, and overall to have lots of fun with us! Returning to their owners exercised, socialised and having had a much better day than spending time alone.
